Housing Works manages a federal contract with the Department
of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide rental assistance (Section 8
vouchers) to lower-income households.
Housing Works serves the communities of Deschutes County,
including Bend, Redmond, Sisters, La Pine, as well as Prineville and Madras.
Housing Works announced on their website that The Section 8
Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) waitlist will be open to the general public in
January 2014. Applicants seeking a voucher must re-apply each year. This
waitlist is determined through a lottery selection system. Check back to this
website later in the year for exact dates to submit an online application to
the January 2014 waitlist.
The Non-Elderly Disabled (NED formerly Mainstream) waitlist
will be open to applicants between 18 and 62-years of age and disabled in early
2014. Applicants for this waitlist must re-apply each year. This waitlist is
determined on a first come, first served basis. Check back to this website
later in the year for exact dates to submit an online-application for the 2014
NED waitlist.
